Orphans of Dusk is a gothic death/doom band being projected into the stars from the South Pacific Ocean, New Zealand/Australia. As the decade turned, the orphan was born - a crystallised idea of epic gothic doom music meshed with death/doom. Casting out the traditional second guitar line in favour of synth and producing several demos, Orphans brought on crushing death metal vocal talent from Sydney, Australia and solidified the line-up that unleashed the Orphans of Dusk vast debut EP, "Revenant" Immense, powerful, and atmospheric doom riffs coalescing with soft melodic textures and melancholy is what you can expect on this debut recording from Orphans of Dusk! For fans of Type O Negative, Woods of Ypres, Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, The Foreshadowing, Swallow the Sun, etc.

"The great Pete Steele would definitely approve. Orphans Of Dusk deliver enormous, powerful goth-doom riffs that are infused with both delight and derision.”
- DoomMetalHeaven
"Holy hell! You know that feeling you get when you have come across something that rocks you back on your heels? [...] Well, listening to ‘Revenant’ left my awesome-metal-sense tingling."
- MetalDisciple.com
“Orphans of Dusk are clearly a band with heaps of talent, a lot on their minds, and the urge to pack 'Revenant' to the brim with content. The latter desire simultaneously boosts their appeal to fans of all types of metal, especially progressive, while leaving less time for the luminous doom metal that shows the band at their best. When it does show, as in 'Starless' and in the epic, morose, and superb track 'Beneath the Cover of Night', I'm ready to float away into an endless, beautiful starry night. "
- Doom-Metal.com
‘Revenant’ is a great-sounding and great-looking release that is presented with great care and attention to detail. It skillfully balances ferocity and melancholy, varying between complexity and simplicity, first caressing and then pummelling. Perhaps most tellingly of all, when it’s over, you’re left wanting more."
